Silverchain’s personal alarms service transfers to Tunstall Healthcare

Australia’s leading home care specialist, Silverchain, has provided a personal alarm service to its clients for almost 20 years, using alarms specialist, Tunstall Healthcare, to distribute and monitor personal alarms.

After careful consideration, Silverchain has made the decision to no longer provide personal alarms directly to clients. Effective Monday, 1 May 2023, Tunstall will directly service and invoice clients for alarm purchases, rental and monitoring.

Silverchain General Counsel and Executive Director Contracts, Procurement and Risk, Fiona Ellett, said while personal alarms support people to live independently, a specialist alarms service provider would best serve our clients’ needs into the future.

“As the Telstra 3G network shuts down in June 2024, Silverchain has made the decision to transfer its personal alarms business to Tunstall to ensure continuous reliability of clients’ alarm services as technology advances,” Ms Ellett said.

“Our clients are already familiar with Tunstall, who has been providing the monitoring of their services under the existing arrangements with Silverchain. What will change is that clients will deal directly with Tunstall for their alarm purchase and rental services, as well as monitoring.

“I would like to assure our clients that there are no other changes to our national Silverchain services at this time. We remain committed to our clients and the provision of high-quality health and aged care.”

Tunstall Healthcare Managing Director Lyn Davies confirmed Tunstall’s ongoing commitment.

“We are delighted to continue to support Silverchain’s clients under these new arrangements,” Ms Davies said.

“For many years our strong relationship with Silverchain has enabled the Silverchain clients to receive the highest level of care and the best products available. Clients can be reassured that we will make the transition as seamless as possible and continue to support them into the future.”

Clients have received direct information from Silverchain and Tunstall advising them of this change.
