People living with a disability often want the same independence as everyone else, but may need a little extra assistance or support to do so.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is the new way of providing individualised support for eligible people with permanent and significant disability, their families and carers. If you are a person with disability who wishes to participate in the NDIS, you must first be assessed against the access requirements.

Here at Tunstall, we pride ourselves on offering a wide range of solutions to aid people in living full and independent lives in the comfort of their own homes.
Assistive technology can help to make this happen by creating a safe environment to give clients, their loved ones and carers the peace of mind that help is always close at hand.
The Australian Network on Disability reports that there are over 4 million people with some form of disability around the country. This includes some 15 per cent of the population who are living with a physical disability.
In New Zealand, there were some 1.1 million people living with a disability, accounting for approximately 24 per cent, according to Statistics NZ.
While cognitive diseases such as multiple sclerosis, dementia, and epilepsy will not always require physical assistance, people who experience these types of conditions require a network of support to enable them to live safely and independently.
Individualised care solutions
Our connected care solutions can support people with unique physical and cognitive requirements by creating specialty packages to suit both high and low needs.
We can offer support for conditions such as paraplegia, quadriplegia and amputated limbs, as well as cerebral palsy, motor neuron disease, multiple sclerosis, down syndrome and acquired brain injury.
A range of assistive technology devices can be employed discreetly, yet effectively around the home, allowing a client to go about their day unhindered.
Help when you need it
Tunstall's monitoring solutions are connected to the 24-hour response centre, meaning that if a client is in need of assistance, they can always speak to one of our friendly operators.
Intelligent sensors can inform carers of their client's movements, advising whether they have gotten out of bed, left the tap running or left their home unexpectedly. In addition, assistive technology can also aid in falls management, automatically activating the medical alarm in the event of a fall.
Our experienced care consultants can contact a client's nominated responder, be they a carer, family member or friend. In the case of an emergency, they can also call an ambulance, and will stay on the line with a client until help arrives.
